David Luke proves its strength
Members of school uniform and sportswear supplier David Luke take on Tough Mudder North West.

On 13 September, David Luke’s managing director, Kathryn Shuttleworth, marketing manager Kirsty Conroy and operations manager, Mark Woolgar, took on and completed Tough Mudder North West.
 
Tough Mudder events comprise 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by Special Forces to test all-round strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses, and one-million inspiring participants worldwide, Tough Mudder is a world-renowned premier adventure challenge series. 
 
“It was certainly one of the toughest things I’ve done in my life, but I’m so proud we managed to complete it,” says Conroy. “It included ice pools, mud like you’ve never seen before, electric shocks and tear gas to name but a few of the things we went through.”

David Luke’s merchandise director, Ian McLaverty was also in the David Luke Tough Mudder team. McLaverty completed the prior training and mental preparation required for the event but unfortunately, three miles into the course, he suffered an eye injury and was unable to complete the challenge.
