New children’s rainwear brand Holly & Beau has won the Innovation of the Year prize at the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2014.
Holly & Beau products change colour when they come into contact with water, returning to their original colour when dry. The company won the Innovation of the Year Award for its demonstration of an innovative concept that meets a consumer need, as well as the opportunities it presented for further growth outside of its current market.
Commenting on the win, Holly & Beau’s founder, Jack Passant, says, “We originally noticed the concept of the design in babies’ nappies and we thought it would be a fun idea to apply this to fabric and materials, which is when the idea was born. The Awards are well recognised, so it will give customers confidence in our brand and will help to promote our products.”
The Awards’ judging panel of five included star of BBC1’s The Apprentice Karren Brady CBE, who deemed Holly & Beau “a very deserving winner of the Innovation of the Year prize” and “a great business to inspire others to do something similar, to grow and to be a success – especially in the current economic market.”
