has been awarded Silver in the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Workplace Health Awards, with company managing director Tracy Carroll also crowned Workplace Health Champion of the Year for 2016.
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Workplace Health Awards is a county standard of good practice and mark of distinction for health and wellbeing in the workplace. The aim of the awards is to act as a toolkit to encourage employers to think about ways to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees.
Activities in place at Frugi include the Get Active Challenge, charitable events, a “bring your kids to work day”, beach games and theatre trips. The Frugi management team also offers support with lunchtime yoga and discounted gym memberships. The team is now working towards the Gold standard in 2017.
“We are extremely proud that our pledge to creating a healthy work environment at Planet Frugi has been recognised,” says managing director, Tracy Carroll. “It’s our employees that have made Frugi the huge success that it is today, so ensuring they are happy at work is very important to us.
“We have lots of lovely activities planned for our staff this year,” she continues. “These include massages, mindfulness sessions, afternoon wildlife walks, picnics and even surfing lessons, so we hope that all of our employees will agree that Frugi is a truly lovely place to work.”
Adding to this, Lucy Jewson, Frugi’s co-founder, says, “Winning the company award is a great achievement, but for Tracy to have also been named Health Champion of the year is just brilliant. Tracy leads from the front and is an example to us all of how to instil positive team spirit and a nurturing workplace. A deserved winner, she encourages participation from all staff and works tirelessly to fundraise and support our charity campaigns. She truly wants the best for the Frugi team and we couldn’t put our healthy workplace initiates into place without her dedication.”
