Independent supplier of schoolwear and sportswear, Blue Max Banner (BMB), has appointed Laura Thomas as group sales and marketing director with immediate effect.
Thomas has a long-standing and distinguished career in the sales and marketing of sportswear, having worked as a group marketing director/deputy managing director for Kukri Sports. Her career highlights involve being part of the Kukri team awarded the Team England contract for the supply of performance, leisure and formalwear to the 2014 Commonwealth games in Glasgow.
“We have been looking to appoint a candidate to this senior position for some time,” says Nigel Plenderleith, CEO at BMB. “Laura is ideal for the role, and we are delighted that she will be bringing her depth of knowledge and experience to the BMB business.”
Thomas’ responsibilities will cover all aspects of BMB’s sales and marketing requirements. Her initial remit will be to work closely with the BMB sales teams, meet customers and understand their needs, and introduce fresh ideas to the company’s marketing and branding strategies.
The appointment, together with the acquisition of the Orion Teamwear brand announced earlier this month, reflects BMB’s commitment to create a strong, competitive and well-designed sportswear brand with an operational performance to match.
A full interview with Laura Thomas will feature in the March/April issue of CWB magazine.
