The Gift Voucher Shop – the company behind the One4All card – saw online sales of its multi-retailer gift card rise by 93 per cent last year, resulting in sales of £98.9m.
The card, which can be spent in 21,000 stores nationwide including Debenhams, John Lewis and Gap, has attributed the rise in sales to the personalisation aspect of the scheme, which is available via its website.
“There’s a clear appetite to buy gift cards online – which suggests the Personalise My Card service, through which consumers can add personal pictures and messages to gift cards to make them more bespoke than ever before, is proving more popular than ever,” says Declan Byrne, group director at One4all Gift Cards. “In 2014 we saw consumers placing more trust than ever before in us this year – thanks in part to the fact that we offer such variation in terms of where our gift cards can be spent, and also due to a general trend towards the public placing more trust in gift cards than they previously have.”
As well as working with major high-street retailers, One4All has introduced several independent retailers into its portfolio including menswear and womenswear retailer Slaters and Northern Ireland menswear independent Louis Boyd.
