Trunki launches Jurni
Children’s ride-on suitcase brand creates a new sit-on, carry-on case for the next generation.

By Laura Turner

16 November 2015

Rob Law, creator and designer of the world’s first ride-on suitcase Trunki, is set to launch Jurni, a new model designed for the next generation of connected travellers.

Four years in the making, Jurni is a sit-on, carry-on suitcase whose key features include a quick easy-access pop-out pod, a seat to rest on and in-line wheels to glide along. It is Law’s and his company’s biggest innovation since the arrival of the original Trunki in 2006.

“Our journey started four years ago with two very simple observations: young people love their tech and crave their independence,” says Law. “So, our aim was to design the ultimate piece of luggage for them. That’s how Jurni was born.”

This morning (16 November) saw Jurni go “live” on the popular online platform Indiegogo, which has helped more than 10,000 entrepreneurs bring their products to a mass audience. It is a way for inventors and designers alike to join forces and make their ideas happen on a global scale with the support of a vibrant online community.

The company is offering Jurni to early adopters on Indiegogo (Indiegogo.com) in three different colours – magma red, colbalt blue and fusion pink. These customers will not only be among the first to receive the Jurni in a limited early-bird deal, they will also be invited to feedback into the final elements of the design and even help steer it in new directions.

“We really believe consumers have the power to decide what a great product is and can genuinely help shape its development,” continues Law. “We saw that in their response to Trunki after Dragons’ Den and feel Indiegogo is its modern day equivalent. We’d like to harness this power for the launch of Jurni and bring the same rewarding experience Trunki gives young children to the next generation of travellers.”
